Hearing Impairment

Hearing impairment means an impairment in hearing, whether permanent or fluctuating, that adversely affects the child's educational performance but that is not included under the definition of deafness in this section.

  • Connects families to private providers and services through OPWDD for evaluations and therapies.

  • Although this category is limited parents and caregivers can connect directly to each other through their Facebook communities.

  • Provides support and resources to empower families with children who have all types of disabilities or special healthcare needs including kids with Hearing Impairments.

  • Offers support and training to educational organizations, families, and communities to improve equity, access, opportunities, and outcomes for all students with disabilities in New York State.
